UN chief suggests both sides may be committing war crimes in US-Israel-Iran conflict

Trump stated on his Truth Social platform that the U.S. did not approve Israel’s attack on the South Pars site and accused Israel of reacting violently, casting doubt on U.S. influence over its ally.

“My hope is that the United States will be able to understand that this has gone too far,” Guterres expressed.

According to Guterres, the conflict predominantly benefits Russia, as Moscow welcomes the shift of attention away from Ukraine.

“Russia is the biggest beneficiary of the Iran crisis,” Guterres commented. “Russia is gaining the most from this catastrophe. Russia is already the winner.”

In response to Trump’s request for assistance in reopening the Strait of Hormuz, European leaders such as U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz have declined to send ships to the Persian Gulf. France has stated it will only provide support vessels “when the situation is calmer.”

Guterres praised the Europeans for their restraint despite Trump’s frustration over their refusal to support the conflict or assist in reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial waterway that Iran has significantly blocked, leading to increased global energy prices.

“I think these countries made their own reading of the situation, and I believe they took a decision not to get too much involved, knowing that the most important objective is the de-escalation,” he noted.

Seems like everyone’s playing hot potato while the world’s on fire, eh? 😏 Gotta love how the EU’s taken the “let’s not poke the bear” approach—just a typical Tuesday in geopolitics, innit? 🥴

  2. Just what we needed, another round of “who’s the bigger war criminal” in this grand geopolitical circus. 😏 Meanwhile, I suppose Europe’s just waiting for the weather to clear before they decide to join the fun—very civilized, innit? 🥴

Seems like everyone’s playing a game of geopolitical chess, but with a bunch of pawns who don’t really know the rules. 🤷‍♂️ Nice to see Europe taking a backseat while the big boys bicker—classic!

Isn’t it just charming how everyone’s suddenly a war crimes expert? 🤔 Meanwhile, the real winners are probably throwing a vodka party in Moscow! 🍸

Seems like the UN chief’s got the diplomacy game down to a fine art—accusing everyone while sipping tea and watching the chaos unfold. 😏 Meanwhile, the Europeans are giving Trump the classic “it’s not you, it’s me” treatment.

Typical, innit? Just when you think the world’s gone mad, the UN chief drags Russia into the spotlight like a forgettable extra in a poorly scripted soap. 🤷‍♂️

Gotta love how the UN chief thinks everyone’s playing dodgeball with war crimes while Russia’s in the corner munching popcorn. If only we could all be as “calm” as the French with their support vessels – magnifique! 😏🍿

Seems like the UN chief’s got a real knack for stating the bleedin’ obvious—who would’ve thought that war crimes and geopolitical messes might, just maybe, benefit someone? 😂 Classic Europe, eh? Always the bystander while the world’s on fire!

Seems like everyone’s playing a game of “who can avoid a mess” while Russia’s having a right laugh in the corner. 🤷‍♂️ Classic Europe, always waiting for the ‘calm’ before jumping in!

Seems like everyone’s playing a game of “who can dodge the messiest conflict,” while Guterres is stuck in the middle like a confused waiter at a bad dinner party. 🍽️ Meanwhile, Russia’s popping the champagne, watching the chaos unfold—bravo, folks! 🍾

Blimey, Guterres really thinks he’s cracked the code on international relations, doesn’t he? 😂 Maybe he should host a workshop on ‘How to Solve Conflicts While Sipping Espresso’ – it could be a real hit! ☕️

Isn’t it delightful how everyone suddenly has a PhD in conflict resolution, yet no one’s willing to actually lift a finger? 🤷‍♂️ Reminds me of a pub debate—lots of talk, no action! 🍻

  13. Seems like everyone’s playing a game of “who can ignore Trump the best” while Russia is just popping popcorn and enjoying the show. Classic European strategy: “Why get involved when we can just watch the chaos from a safe distance?” 😂🍿

Just what we needed, a UN chief playing referee in a game of geopolitical dodgeball! 🙄 But hey, as long as Russia’s sipping champagne in the corner, who cares about those pesky war crimes, right? 🍾

  15. Looks like the UN chief thinks everyone’s playing nice while the adults are away. Meanwhile, I guess the only one really winning here is Russia, sipping their vodka while we sort out this mess. 🍸

Seems like everyone’s playing a game of geopolitical chess, but who knew the pieces were made of marshmallows? 🍬 While the U.S. throws a tantrum, the Euro crew just sips their café au lait, watching the circus unfold with a bemused shrug.
