Electric Ferrari Sparks Outrage from Transport Minister and Across Italy

Salvini’s remarks are expected to escalate tensions between the Italian government and the Agnelli-Elkann family, the principal shareholder in Ferrari and the global car manufacturer Stellantis.

The contentious Luce — the first Ferrari model to be entirely electric and to feature five seats — has immediately caused a stir among traditionalists in Italy.

It also failed to immediately reassure investors, with Ferrari’s stock plummeting by over eight percent on Tuesday.

The four-door Ferrari, advertised as “the most comfortable Ferrari ever” — which deviates from the brand’s reputation for speed, style, and passion — was co-developed by Jony Ive, former chief design officer at Apple.

Some humorously observed a likeness between the new Ferrari, offered in an uncommon light blue, and the classic Apple products designed by Ive’s team.

Di Montezemolo, who was at the helm of Ferrari for more than twenty years, also criticized the car.

Isn’t it lovely when a Ferrari turns into an electric sofa? Maybe next they’ll add cup holders and a complimentary espresso machine for that authentic Italian experience. 😂

So, we’ve gone from “fast and furious” to “sluggish and serious,” eh? Who knew the Italians would ever trade in their passion for pasta for a five-seater electric snooze mobile? 😂🚗
