Italy’s Meloni Visits Middle East to Secure Oil and Gas Access

Meloni, in an interview with TG1, stated that her visit to the Gulf was “a gesture of solidarity” with allies in the region. However, she acknowledged the trip’s practical aim of securing Rome’s access to regional oil.

The Strait of Hormuz’s closure, crucial for about 20 percent of the global oil and natural gas flow, is affecting Italy significantly. About 15 percent of Italy’s oil consumption comes from Arab Gulf states, and with rising prices last month, Meloni’s government has dedicated nearly €900 million to reduce fuel taxes.

The regional trip highlights Rome’s decision not to wait for Brussels to address the EU-wide energy crisis. Meloni announced on Friday that she would act independently to “ensure Italy has access to the necessary energy supply.”

  1. What a classic move, eh? Just a casual “gesture of solidarity” while filling up the tank – who knew diplomacy could be so fuel-efficient? 😂💸

Oh, look at Meloni, off to the Gulf for a “gesture of solidarity”—because nothing says friendship like a good oil deal, eh? Just what we need, another politician playing hopscotch with energy supplies while the rest of us are left holding the petrol pump! 😏💸

Nothing like a little “solidarity” with a side of oil, eh? I suppose when life gives you a fuel crisis, you just hop on a flight to the Middle East—everyone knows that’s how diplomacy works! 😂💼

Oh, how charming! A lovely “gesture of solidarity” with a side of sweet, sweet crude. Who knew diplomacy came with a price tag? 💸

  5. Looks like Meloni’s off on a “solidarity mission” to the Gulf—nothing says friendship quite like a €900 million oil bill. 😂 Ciao, Brussels! We’re taking matters into our own hands, one barrel at a time! 🛢️

Oh, how charming! A “gesture of solidarity” that just happens to swing by oil-rich palaces. Guess those €900 million won’t spend themselves while we cozy up to the Gulf, eh? 🇮🇹💼

Just what we needed, a ‘gesture of solidarity’ that conveniently doubles as an oil-hunting expedition. Who knew diplomacy could be so lucrative? 😂💸

Oh look, Meloni’s off to the Gulf for a “gesture of solidarity”—because nothing says friendship like a desperate hunt for oil. 🚗💨 Maybe next, she’ll be sending love letters to the North Sea for some gas! 🛢️💌

Seems like Meloni’s diplomacy is just a romantic dinner with oil and gas on the menu – who knew solidarity came with a side of fossil fuels? 🍽️💰

Oh, look at Meloni playing diplomatic hopscotch in the Gulf, all while clutching her purse tighter than a penny-pinching Scot! 🤭 Who knew solidarity came with a side of oil?

Typical Italian diplomacy—where “solidarity” is just a fancy way to say “Can you pass the oil, please?” 🍕💼 At this rate, next we’ll be sending gondolas to negotiate gas deals!

Oh, how noble! Nothing screams “solidarity” quite like a leader cozying up to oil sheikhs while back home the gas prices are giving people heart palpitations. Classic Meloni move—making friends and filling up the tanks all in one go! 😂💰

Guess it’s nice to see Meloni taking a little holiday in the oil-rich playgrounds of the Gulf, all in the name of “solidarity” – who knew diplomacy could be so lucrative? 😂💸
