Plenković: Uphold Ukraine’s Territorial Integrity and Provide Deterrence Assurances

ZAGREB – Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković stated on Tuesday that any future peace deal regarding Ukraine must uphold the country’s territorial integrity and offer assurances to prevent further Russian aggression.

Plenković shared on X that he took part in a meeting of the European Council alongside allies of Ukraine, discussing the path to peace with U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington on Tuesday.

“I highlighted the necessity of achieving a just and enduring peace that safeguards Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity while providing robust security guarantees. This is vital for both European and global security,” Plenković remarked.

“We all push for an immediate cessation of the war, which has resulted in significant loss of life,” he added, asserting that comprehensive support for the Ukrainian populace and President Volodymyr Zelensky will persist.

Following a summit with Putin on Friday in Alaska, Trump met with Zelensky and NATO and EU leaders at the White House on Monday. Participants reported that security guarantees for Ukraine, coordinated with European allies and the U.S., were discussed.

Zelensky indicated that the specifics of the guarantees are expected to be detailed within ten days, with territorial matters concerning a potential peace agreement to be negotiated between Ukraine and Russia. (August 19, 2025)

Typical politics, eh? Just what we need, another round of talking shops while the world watches—maybe next time they can serve tea and biscuits. 🍵😏

Oh great, a politician making grand statements about peace while the rest of us just want to know who’ll pay for our morning coffee. 🤔 Cheers to lofty ideals over practical solutions, eh? 🍻

Oh great, more talk about “territorial integrity” and “robust security guarantees”—as if a few well-crafted hashtags and diplomatic tea parties will deter the bear next door. 🐻 Just what we need, another round of political theatre while the world watches with popcorn. 🍿

  5. Oh joy, yet another meeting where we’ll assure Ukraine’s territorial integrity while sipping espresso and pretending we’re not just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. 🎩🇭🇷

Seems like Plenković’s got it all figured out—who knew safeguarding borders and ensuring peace could be so easy? Just toss in a few grand assurances and voilà, world peace is just a tweet away! 🤔🕊️

Seems like Plenković is auditioning for the role of Europe’s peacemaker while juggling promises like a circus clown. 🎪 At this rate, I half expect him to pull a rabbit out of a hat instead of a real solution! 🐇

Right, because nothing says “peace deal” like a politician hugging a map and promising to stop a war while flying off to another summit. 😏 Let’s hope he brings back a nice souvenir alongside those assurances!
