Brussels (Eurotoday Newspaper)– Tupperware’s Belgium licence expires on 8 January, causing uncertainty for distributors like Lorenzo De Smedt and sellers Ewout Deck and Shana Brams.
Tupperware is facing uncertainty in Belgium as its licence to sell products expires today, January 8. Distributor Lorenzo De Smedt is worried because he hasn’t heard if the licence will be renewed. Recent news suggests that the American parent company may focus only on “top countries,” leaving Europe out.
What challenges do Tupperware Sellers Ewout Deckx and Shana Brams face as their license expires in Belgium?
Many independent consultants, who earn income by selling Tupperware at parties, are also anxious about their future. Ewout Deckx, a 27-year-old seller from Tielt-Winge, started the business because of his mother and has been organising monthly parties to showcase Tupperware since 2018.
“I have made many friends, both with customers and with other sellers”
Ewout Deckx, Tupperware seller
According to Ewout Deckx, a Tupperware consultant, January, March, and October are his busiest months for demos, where he can earn between 600 and 800 euros each time. He enjoys the social connections he makes with customers and other consultants the most. Shana Brams, who has been selling Tupperware for 11 years, feels the same way. She describes her team as a family. Brams started her journey in 2013 after a holiday mishap forced her to sell products on her own, leading to great success.
“I would do 1 party a month and stop after 3 months. Soon I was doing 3-4 demonstrations a week”
Shana Brams, Tupperware saleswoman
Brams started selling Tupperware on a trial basis, planning to do just one party a month. To her surprise, she enjoyed it so much that she quickly moved to three or four demos each week. After 11 years of success, she now faces the end of her Tupperware journey, similar to Ewout Deckx. Recently, both have experienced an increase in sales, with Brams selling a large portion of her usual yearly amount in just a few weeks. She hopes to keep in touch with Tupperware through a distributor in India for her future needs.

Such a pity that Tupperware’s license is expiring; guess we’ll have to start wrapping our leftovers in hope and dreams instead of BPA-free plastic. 😏 Who knew that sealing in freshness would come with an expiration date too?

Clearly, Tupperware’s Belgian distributors are just living the dream, aren’t they? Nothing like a little license drama to spice up your party-planning life—who needs stability when you can have surprise endings like a bad soap opera? 😂
