Trump to Join European Leaders on Emergency Call Before Putin Talks

European leaders, including Merz, insist that Putin must agree to a ceasefire before any peace negotiations or land exchanges between Moscow and Kyiv can occur.

A spokesperson mentioned that virtual meetings are set to begin at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. The initial meeting will last one hour, featuring leaders from Finland, France, the U.K., Italy, Poland, as well as the European Commission and European Council presidents, along with Zelenskyy and NATO chief Mark Rutte.

Following this, a one-hour discussion is scheduled at 3 p.m., involving European leaders, Zelensky, Trump, and Vice President J.D. Vance.
