Ovifat Draws Tourists to Enjoy the Snow
In Ovifat—the place’s touristy destination—the visitors had a ball in the snow and enjoyed all the winter sports. They even put a sledge run in the downhill ski slope, and many people went down the mountain.
Snow Expected to Last Until Christmas Eve
The snow is expected to linger through Christmas Eve, with warmer temperatures likely to melt it by December 25, bringing an end to the festive white cover.

As the morning unfolded, pictures from residents started pouring in, all capturing their snowy experiences. Pascal drew special attention to “heavy snowfall in Ans and Loncin,” near Liège, while giving a message of hope regarding the possibility of a white Christmas for the city’s inhabitants.
Snow Falls in Vielsalm and Southern Namur
Further south, in Vielsalm, Luxembourg, several centimeters of snow fell overnight. Valérie, a resident, captured the scene, describing it as:
“The snow covers the province of Luxembourg with its white coat at 1 a.m.”
She added:
“Just three small centimeters have accumulated, and it continues to fall on our beautiful town of Vielsalm.”
Reports also indicate that winter showers were observed in the southern parts of Namur province.
More Snow is Expected in the Ardennes
The weather agency IRM predicts more snow in the Ardennes “Above 500 to 600 meters above sea level, where the showers will again bring melting snow or snow.” Winter showers will continue overnight into Tuesday, and more snow is predicted for the Luxembourg province. However, rising temperatures on Wednesday could dash hopes for a white Christmas across the country.
Challenging Driving Conditions Due to Snow
Driving conditions this morning are very demanding, given the heavy snowfall that makes the roads slippery. Authorities urge motorists to observe a safe distance, not to brake suddenly, and to lower their speed, especially during early hours. In the meantime, snow spreaders work hard to make road conditions easier for travelers.
