Slovenia Advocates for the Swift Development of a European Satellite System

Luxembourg – At the EU telecommunications ministers’ meeting, Slovene Digital Transformation Minister Ksenija Klampfer emphasized the urgent need for a European satellite system.

The Slovenian Ministry for Digital Transformation noted that such a system would facilitate secure communication in the face of threats and provide internet access in areas where broadband infrastructure is too costly or unfeasible.

Klampfer asserted that a dedicated satellite system would bolster Europe’s technological sovereignty.

She also participated in an event in Luxembourg for the MED9 group, comprised of European Mediterranean nations, currently chaired by Slovenia.

The gathering focused on sharing best practices and discussing the implementation of artificial intelligence and new technologies to tackle regional challenges. Slovenia proposed a collaborative inventory of AI initiatives in the public sectors of MED9 countries, particularly targeting climate change, migration, food security, and cybersecurity.

This initiative received unanimous support from all MED9 member states, which include Cyprus, France, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Malta, Portugal, and Spain, along with positive feedback from a high representative of the European Commission. (June 6)

Oh, nothing screams “technological sovereignty” like a satellite system—because who needs to fix the roads when you can just beam the internet from space, right? 🚀🤷‍♂️

Isn’t it just splendid how Slovenia’s got it all figured out with satellites? I mean, who knew secure communication and internet access could be solved with a sprinkle of space magic? 🌌🚀

Seems like Slovenia has cracked the code to intergalactic Wi-Fi while the rest of us are still struggling with our vodafone bills. 🚀 What’s next, a satellite-powered espresso machine? ☕😜

Looks like Slovenia’s got big dreams of launching satellites while we’re still trying to fix the potholes on our roads! 🚀💸 Who knew digital transformation required so much upward mobility?

Looks like Slovenia’s got us all buzzing about satellites now—who knew the sky was the limit for EU agendas? 🚀 Maybe next they’ll propose a moon base just to keep up with the latest tech trends. 😂

Oh, splendid! Nothing like a satellite system to remind us that while we’re busy debating who gets the last croissant at breakfast, the rest of the world is zooming ahead in tech. 📡✨

A European satellite system, you say? Brilliant! Because what we really need is another layer of bureaucracy and shiny tech to solve problems that could be fixed with a decent Wi-Fi router. 🙄📡

Oh, brilliant! Just what we need—another satellite system to solve all our problems. Because clearly, the last thing Europe lacks is a bit more tech talk and bureaucratic charm. 😏🚀

Just what we need, another satellite system to remind us how we can’t even get our trains to run on time 🚄. But hey, at least we’ll have secure comms while we’re stuck in traffic, right? 🤷‍♂️
