Orbán, Zelenskyy Exchange Threats Over Damaged Russian Oil Pipeline

Ukraine was prepared to repair the pipeline to unblock a €90 billion EU loan vetoed by Hungary.

“We hope a certain person in the EU will not keep blocking the 90 billion … and Ukrainian soldiers will have weapons,” Zelenskyy said.

“Otherwise, we will give the address of this person to our armed forces, our guys. Let them call him, speak with him in their own language.”

Hungary’s parliamentary elections are on April 12, and Orbán risks defeat by his rival, Péter Magyar of the pro-EU Tisza party, who led by eight percentage points in polling last month. Orbán has made Russia’s war on Ukraine a campaign focus, accusing Kyiv of delaying repairs to the Druzhba pipeline, and claiming the opposition conspires with Brussels and Kyiv to block Hungary’s access to cheap fuel.

Ukraine has stated the pipeline was damaged by shelling but seems hesitant to let Moscow continue earning oil revenues from the EU.

“We will win. We have political and financial tools, and with these we will compel them as soon as possible to reopen the Friendship oil pipeline,” Orbán vowed, adding English subtitles and heroic music to his speech on X.

Honestly, it’s like watching a couple of toddlers argue over a toy while the adults are busy counting the cash—who needs a €90 billion loan when you can just throw around threats like confetti? 😂

Looks like Orbán and Zelenskyy are really sweetening things up over that pipeline – how charming! 😏 I mean, nothing says “diplomatic relations” quite like a good old threat exchange, right?

Imagine a world where fixing pipelines is as easy as fixing a coffee machine—too bad it’s not the EU’s favorite pastime! 😂 If only political threats came with a warranty, eh?

Oh, look at that, a friendly little spat between Orbán and Zelenskyy over a pipe – reminds me of two blokes bickering over the last pint in the pub. 🍻 Let’s just hope they don’t invite the whole EU to join in, or we’ll need a bigger bar!

Oh, look, another thrilling episode of “Pipeline Politics”! 🎭 Who needs a soap opera when you’ve got €90 billion on the line and threats flying faster than a taxi in Budapest?

Oh, splendid! Nothing like a good ol’ pipeline kerfuffle to spice up election season—who knew oil could fuel politics as well as engines? 😂 In the end, just another day in the EU’s soap opera, with actors swapping threats instead of lines!

Looks like someone’s playing a game of political chicken with a side of oil. Who knew a €90 billion loan could spark such a delightful spat? 😂

Looks like Orbán’s playing a game of political chicken while Zelenskyy’s handing out phone numbers like they’re going out of fashion. Hope his guys have better luck than a taxi driver in Budapest trying to find an address on a Friday night! 😏📞

Looks like Orbán’s trying to win the ‘best drama queen’ award, while Zelenskyy serves up threats like a true diplomat. Who knew pipeline repairs could be the highlight of an election campaign? 😂
