Mickoski: Bulgaria hindered us today, but Macedonia stays proud; we will not tolerate another betrayal

Skopje – We stand proud, with our heads held high. Today, Bulgaria acted against us. The world has witnessed the challenges and injustices we encounter as a state and a nation in the 21st century. We can now openly tell Europe that the truth has emerged, stated Prime Minister Christian Mitskoski at an extraordinary press conference.

Mitskoski asserted from the party headquarters that we are on the right side of history, “and Bulgaria has demonstrated that it can also miss the right side.”

– Macedonia’s European path is obstructed by Bulgaria, not just now, but since 1990. It has a clear agenda aimed at undermining the Macedonian nation and identity. However, let us make our mark with the truth. This is our Krushevo Manifesto; we must rally together with all our friends and allies. This is a fight for fundamental justice and values. This struggle neither begins nor concludes today; despite the tragic tribulations for Macedonia, there is a dimension of success, Mitskoski highlighted concerning the European Parliament’s vote on the report.

According to the Prime Minister, Macedonian history is fraught with injustices.

– These injustices are not only related to identity through denial and betrayal, but also socio-economic; people have been forced to flee. Today, the methods may differ, but the essence remains the same. We cannot confront injustices without naming, identifying, and overcoming them, Mitskoski remarked.

Today, the European Parliament passed the report by Austrian MEP Thomas Waitz on the country for 2023 and 2024 with 461 votes in favor, 121 against, and 107 abstentions. Prior to the vote, amendments proposed by MEPs Andrzej Halicki (European People’s Party), Kathleen Van Brempt (Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats), and Dan Barna (Renew Europe) were adopted, which removed references to “Macedonian language and identity” from the report. Looks like someone needs a history lesson—Bulgaria’s been a thorn in Macedonia’s side since ’90, but hey, who needs allies when you’ve got a manifesto? 🤷‍♂️ #ProudButPerpetuallyStuck

Oh, the drama! Just when you think the Balkan soap opera couldn’t get any juicier, here comes Mickoski with a plot twist worthy of a telenovela. 🇲🇰✨ Who knew international relations came with such a flair for the theatrical?

Seems like Bulgaria’s just become the new villain in Macedonia’s soap opera—who knew geopolitics could be so dramatic? 🤷‍♂️ It’s almost like they think they can steal the show while we all sit here with our popcorn. 🍿

Oh, the drama! Who knew Bulgaria was the villain in this epic Macedonian soap opera? 🇲🇰💔 I guess we’ll just keep waving our flags and hoping for a fairytale ending while they play the part of the wicked neighbor!

So, Bulgaria’s got its own agenda, eh? Classic move—like a bad rom-com where you keep expecting the hero to finally get a clue but instead, they just trip over their own ego! 😂🇲🇰

Oh, how delightful! A press conference filled with soaring rhetoric and a side of historical grievance – just what we needed to start the day! The only thing missing is a marching band; after all, why tackle real issues when you can play the victim like a pro? 🎺🙄

Oh, look at that, another day, another betrayal by our dear neighbors! Who knew history classes in Europe would come with such entertaining plot twists? 😏

Oh, look at us, standing proud while Bulgaria plays hide and seek with our identity. 😂 Maybe we should send them a postcard from the “right side of history,” though I hear their mailbox is full!

Oh, fantastic! It’s always a treat to watch a prime minister play historical chess while Bulgaria’s just trying to figure out the rules. 😏 “Krushevo Manifesto,” you say? More like “Krushevo Mood!”

Guess Bulgaria’s been taking lessons from a particularly clumsy elephant in a china shop – who knew national pride came with a side of daily drama? 🎭
