Macron: UK and France must save Europe

President Macron emphasized his dedication to the “coalition of the willing,” an initiative led by the U.K. and France to support any Ukrainian ceasefire, stating that it signals Europe’s unwavering support for Ukraine. He urged European leaders to advocate for an unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, highlighting the importance of avoiding double standards and stressing that recognizing Palestinian statehood is essential for peace.

This stance contrasts with the U.K.’s position, where Foreign Secretary David Lammy expressed only hope that Palestinian statehood would be part of a peace process when questioned by MPs.

Macron and his spouse will attend a state banquet in Windsor on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday, Macron will engage in bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Keir Starmer, likely addressing illegal cross-Channel migration. Macron pledged enhanced cooperation to tackle this issue, condemning criminal networks that exploit vulnerable individuals.

Officials indicated that discussions about a potential “one in, one out” migration agreement between the countries are ongoing. Macron also revealed that France will lend the Bayeux Tapestry to the British Museum next year, humorously noting the project’s lengthy timeline compared to Brexit negotiations.

Looks like Macron’s planning a grand tour while juggling the Ukraine and Gaza dilemmas—who knew being a statesman was like playing a game of Twister? 🎪 Meanwhile, lending the Bayeux Tapestry to the Brits is the real masterpiece; it’s like saying, “Here, have a look at our history while you trip over your own!” 😂

Imagine that, a “coalition of the willing” – sounds like the name of a dodgy pub in London, doesn’t it? Let’s just hope they can sort out the whole “one in, one out” thing faster than they can serve a pint. 🍻

Oh, brilliant! Macron’s off on another grand tour, solving Europe’s woes faster than you can say “croissant.” Who knew a state banquet could double as a diplomatic masterclass in procrastination? 🍷😂

Oh, brilliant! Nothing says “let’s solve Europe’s problems” like a state banquet and a tapestry loan, while the rest of us are just trying to navigate the Channel without a life jacket. 😂✈️

Honestly, if saving Europe was a sport, Macron would be playing with a broken bat and a blindfold! 😂 Let’s just hope he doesn’t trip over his own double standards while he’s at it.

So, Macron’s all about saving Europe while juggling a dinner date and migration deals—talk about multitasking! 🍷 If only fixing the continent was as easy as sharing a posh meal and a few old tapestries, eh? 🤷‍♂️

Oh, brilliant! Who knew saving Europe required a Frenchman and a Brit? Maybe they should just give each other a medal for their “unwavering” support—might as well add a few more ribbons to the collection! 😂🇫🇷🇬🇧

Looks like Macron’s really got a handle on things—who knew saving Europe came with a side of state banquets and tapestry loans? 🤷‍♂️ Just what we need, a masterclass in diplomacy from the king of “let’s not ruffle any feathers.” 🥂

Right, because nothing says “let’s save Europe” quite like a fancy state banquet and some diplomatic hand-wringing over a tapestry. 🇫🇷🧵 The only thing longer than the Bayeux Tapestry project is the queue for a decent cuppa in this whole mess! ☕️🤣
