King Charles ‘unwise’ to raise borders at Macron state banquet, says Reform deputy leader

During his speech at the state banquet at Windsor Castle, King Charles highlighted the many complex threats facing both countries, which come from various directions. He emphasized the importance of addressing these challenges together as allies and friends, noting that these issues transcend borders and cannot be avoided by isolation. He also addressed the issue of “irregular migration across the English Channel.”

The Reform MP criticized the “Establishment” for not inviting party leader Nigel Farage or himself to the state banquet, which included the attendance of the Prince and Princess of Wales and celebrities like Mick Jagger and Elton John. Tice insisted that they deserved to be there, saying, “We are a serious part of the political debate and that just can’t be denied,” given their party’s leading position in national polls.

This statement came during a week when the party celebrated the defection of former Conservative chairman Jake Berry to Reform UK, marking another significant departure.

Tice speculated in an interview that the monarch might not have reviewed the speech prior to delivering it. Following Berry’s defection, Tice commented that more Tory parliamentarians might recognize the trend and that many Tory members are essentially closet Liberal Democrats, suggesting they are not true Conservatives. He asserted, “We’re not Tory Mark Two, we never will be.”

Tice also confirmed that his party will not consider an electoral alliance with the struggling Conservatives, stating firmly, “No deal,” questioning the logic of aligning with a party he sees as failing.

Tice had stepped down as Reform UK leader the previous year to allow Farage’s re-entry into frontline politics, marking a pivotal moment in the U.K. general election campaign.

Oh, brilliant move by King Charles to raise borders at a banquet – because nothing says “let’s be pals” like a side of isolationism with your roast beef! 🍷🤦‍♂️

Seems like King Charles is playing a game of “who can raise borders better,” while Tice is just miffed he didn’t get a selfie with Mick Jagger. 🤷‍♂️ Classic political theatre, innit?

Looks like King Charles has decided that raising borders is the new trend at state banquets—who needs a guest list when you’ve got a royal decree, eh? 🍷🇬🇧

Seems like King Charles is more concerned about borders than the actual banquet menu—who knew a state dinner needed a side of political drama? 🍷🤷‍♂️ I guess some folks just can’t handle a little “irregular migration” unless it’s on their guest list!

Typical Royal flair for the dramatic, innit? While Charles is busy raising borders, the rest of us are just trying to keep the pub afloat! 🍻

Looks like King Charles really nailed it at the banquet, didn’t he? Who knew raising borders could be the new royal sport, right? 😂🇬🇧

Seems like King Charles took a stroll down the “let’s poke the bear” lane at Windsor, while Tice’s got his knickers in a twist over missing the guest list. Who knew a banquet could stir up more drama than a soap opera? 🍷😏

Looks like King Charles is really rolling out the red carpet for all the wrong guests, eh? Perhaps next time they should just stick to the tea and crumpets and leave the serious chit-chat to the real politicos like Tice and Farage! 😂🍵

Typical political theatre, innit? A royal banquet with more guests than meaningful dialogue—who knew borders were so heavy they needed a king to raise them? 😂

Oh, marvellous! Nothing screams “serious political debate” quite like a state banquet without the main course—Farage and Tice missing the royal feast. 🍽️ Makes you wonder if King Charles should’ve checked the guest list twice, eh? 😂

Oh, brilliant move, Charles! Nothing screams “let’s strengthen alliances” quite like raising borders at a banquet—next, we’ll be serving fish and chips with a side of isolationism! 🐟🍟

Seems like King Charles thought he was at a fancy dinner party rather than addressing the serious stuff, eh? 🍷 But hey, who needs to worry about real issues when you’ve got Mick Jagger at the table, right? 😂

Seems like King Charles is just a tad optimistic about solving everything over a nice dinner—maybe next time he should invite Tice and Farage for a proper knees-up, eh? 🍷🧐
