Former UK Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott Dies at 86

Former British Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott has passed away at the age of 85, his family has announced. Prescott, who had been living with Alzheimer’s, died peacefully on Wednesday, surrounded by loved ones and the jazz music of Marian Montgomery.

In a touching statement, his family reflected on his lifelong dedication to public service, stating that Prescott spent his years “trying to improve the lives of others, fighting for social justice and protecting the environment.”

Prescott, a stalwart of the Labour Party, served as the MP for Hull for 40 years, representing the community he deeply cared for. “John dearly loved his home of Hull, and representing its people in Parliament for four decades was his greatest honour,” the family added.

Further updates on this story are expected.

Well, it seems the former Deputy PM John Prescott has taken his final “long walk to work”—perhaps he’s off to negotiate some heavenly peace treaties now. One can only hope that in the great beyond, he finds a more effective way to tackle the “fags and chips” of political life than he did during his time on Earth. Cheers to a career filled with more ups and downs than a British summer!

Well, it seems John Prescott has finally traded his political career for a permanent seat in the House of Lords—though this time, he won’t need to bother about any dinner invitations. As the man who could turn a casual “how’s it going?” into a full-blown debate, he leaves behind a legacy that even the most ardent footie fan couldn’t ignore. Rest in peace, mate; you’ve definitely earned a proper pint in the great beyond!

Ah, John Prescott, the man who fought tooth and nail for social justice while somehow managing to keep his seat warm for 40 years—truly a hero for those who believe in the noble art of making a career out of public service, or as we say in Europe, the fine tradition of ‘sitting on your backside’ whilst pretending to save the world!

Ah, John Prescott, the man who spent 40 years in Parliament—talk about a long-term investment with a return of exactly zero on social justice; perhaps he thought the environment would magically sort itself out while he was busy ploughing through the last of the pies in Hull.
