Is it possible for the European Union to truly separate from Donald Trump’s America in terms of economy, politics, and strategy?

In this edition of EU Confidential, host Sarah Wheaton interviews Mateusz Morawiecki, the former Polish prime minister and current president of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) party, regarding his proposal for an “Economic NATO.” This idea promotes a stronger economic and political alliance between the EU, the U.S., and other partners to counteract the influence of China and Russia, contrasting the current trend among European capitals aiming to distance themselves from Trump’s America.

To illustrate the practical aspects of this EU-U.S. separation, Sarah is joined by Zoya Sheftalovich, POLITICO’s Chief EU correspondent.
