Home affairs ministers are gathering this morning amid the ongoing impact of the Ceuta crisis in Europe.

The recent sudden influx of migrants into the Spanish exclave — most of whom have since returned — led to intense discussions among European leaders. In the show, hosts Zoya Sheftalovich and Ian Wishart discuss whether today’s emergency meeting can ease tensions and what measures the Commission might propose to address concerns across the bloc.

Additionally, a drought in Hungary and Romania threatens to halt nuclear power plants as the River Danube’s water levels are too low to cool their reactors. Both Budapest and Bucharest are on high alert over a potential energy crisis in the coming days.

Moreover, Belgium’s initiative to encourage young people to enroll in voluntary military service seems successful, with the program starting September 1 already fully booked.
