When the wind comes from the east, it’s tough to take off from Sinaai because balloons get pushed toward the Ghent-Terneuzen canal zone. The new launch site, east of Sint-Niklaas, will help balloonists avoid these issues and let them fly over Sint-Niklaas before going into Waasland. The opening date for the new site is not known yet.
