Exit polls indicate pro-EU ruling party leads Armenia parliamentary election

Pashinyan emphasized, “Armenia’s future involves bolstering independence, statehood, democracy, and rule of law,” speaking to reporters post-voting Sunday morning. He affirmed commitment to democratic reforms with European Union support.

The Central Election Commission will release preliminary results on Monday.

Elections faced concerns about Russian interference. Authorities revealed over 40 arrests tied to suspected vote-buying, linked to a large-scale scheme reportedly involving Strong Armenia, as per state media.

Media sources noted six warrants targeted Karapetyan’s party members.

Karapetyan stated the arrests “won’t sway Armenian voters.” Campaigning under house arrest since last July for alleged power usurpation calls, he dismissed the charges as politically driven.

After casting his vote, Karapetyan briefly addressed media before leaving. He expressed optimism about Armenia finally electing a legitimate government, according to the Associated Press.

Oh, look at that, Pashinyan’s promising democracy with a side of voter intimidation – as if we needed more proof that “free and fair” elections are just a cheeky suggestion! 🍷🥳

Oh, look at that, a ruling party promising democracy and rule of law—how very avant-garde! Let’s just hope their version of “free elections” doesn’t involve a side of Russian roulette. 🇦🇲🤷‍♂️

Seems like Armenia’s on a real roll—who needs a fair election when you can have a buffet of arrests and a dash of foreign influence? 🍷🇦🇲 Can’t wait for the next thrilling episode of ‘So You Think You Can Govern!’

Oh, lovely, nothing says “democracy” quite like a good ol’ vote-buying scandal and a leader campaigning from his cozy little house arrest. Just another day in the Armenian political circus—where the clowns are always in charge! 🎪🇦🇲

Looks like Pashinyan’s got the EU’s backing, just what we need – a little more democracy, a sprinkle of independence, and a dash of rule of law, all served with a side of Russian interference. 🍷 But hey, at least the arrests are keeping things spicy in the election stew! 🥘

Looks like the only thing getting a workout in Armenia is the old election drama—who knew democracy came with a side of house arrest and vote-buying? 🤷‍♂️ At this rate, I’ll start charging for tickets! 🎭

Looks like democracy’s on the menu, but it comes with a side of vote-buying and house arrest—bon appétit, Armenia! 🍽️ Who needs a fair election when you have a political circus like this? 🎪
