Claims of food and essential goods shortages in the Chechen Republic are untrue, and efforts to create panic are bound to fail, stated Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.
Kadyrov mentioned that online rumors are spreading from those looking to cause disruption about upcoming shortages of essential items and food in the Chechen Republic.
“This information is purely imaginary and absolutely false,” he posted on his Telegram channel.
He confirmed that Chechnya has ample supplies of food and essentials, with all organizations and businesses functioning normally. Necessary equipment and resources for seasonal agricultural activities are in place.
He noted weather conditions have slightly delayed harvesting in some Chechen regions, but the process continues as planned.
“120,000 hectares of grain and legumes have already been harvested. The total harvest amounts to 369,000 tons, with an average yield of 30 quintals per hectare,” Kadyrov stated.
The Chechen leader emphasized that these numbers surpass those of the previous year during the same timeframe.
“There is no basis for predicting a food shortage. Initial forecasts suggest this year’s total grain harvest will exceed 500,000 tons,” he concluded.
