Antwerp (Eurotoday): Abdenor R., a 27-year-old prisoner, threatened a judge after being sentenced to six years for ordering a Molotov cocktail attack. The Antwerp prosecutor’s office keeps details secret for safety, and special security measures are in place for the judge.
Due to security risks, the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office does not share many details about a case. A spokesman said they will remain quiet while special security measures are in place for the investigating judge, who was moved to a safe location after a prisoner in Hasselt prison was found to be targeting him. The prisoner, 27-year-old Abdenor R. from Deurne, was sentenced to 6 years in October 2023 for ordering an attack on a house in Deurne linked to the parents of drug criminal Mounir ‘Gino’ El B.
What security measures are in place for Judge after Abdenor R.’s threats in Antwerp?
Abdenor R. is accused of ordering an attack with two Molotov cocktails at a house because of a previous incident at his parents’ home. He was in Sint Gillis prison but was moved to Hasselt for sneaking in mobile phones. A prison guard was arrested for giving him a phone to send threats to a judge but was released after questioning. Abdenor R. is in Bruges prison under strict security to prevent outside contact.
Antwerp’s public prosecutor’s office is not sharing details about serious threats related to crime. The president of the Antwerp court mentioned in an email that they kept it quiet for safety reasons but now feel they need to inform everyone. He expressed support for a colleague involved, saying they are doing well. He also assured that there is no risk to the court or its staff. Abdenor R.’s lawyer, Sam Vlaminck, has not commented on the case.

Can’t say I’m surprised—nothing says “I’m sorry” like a good ol’ Molotov cocktail! 🍷 Who needs a peaceful resolution when you’ve got firebombs and a prison guard as your personal delivery service?

Seems like Abdenor R. really took “fire in the courtroom” to a whole new level! 😂 Six years for playing with Molotov cocktails? At this rate, I might just start charging for the entertainment at the next judicial gala! 🍷🎉
