Stern, who passed away in 2020, served as the director of the startup contest Pitch@Palace, which was owned by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, previously known as Prince Andrew, and ceased operations in November 2025.
‘Anytime for you’
The documents reveal that Epstein and Tang planned a phone call and two meetings, once in 2011 and twice in 2012. In June 2011, Epstein emailed, “donald, can we speak on the phone?” A redacted email linked to Donald Tang replied, “It’s late in NY. I am leaving for Shanghai in a few hours. What’s your number for me to call you?”
In October 2011, Epstein got an email from a redacted address, signed by Donald Tang, inquiring if he would be “in town early part of next week? Would love to see you if you are…” Epstein responded that day, stating, “yes anytime for you.”
Epstein mentions Donald Tang in an April 29, 2012 email to a third party, calling him “very china connected.”
In a text exchange on April 29, 2012, via iMessage from two redacted numbers, the sender asks if the receiver is “in town around May 22nd,” signed “Donald Tang.” The receiver replied, recommending, “you should meet david stern, young kid very smart china sophisticated.”
