EU aids economic recovery for flood-impacted operators in BiH

Sarajevo (Fena) – The European Union has announced a public call to identify aid beneficiaries for businesses impacted by the floods in October 2024, as part of its project supporting flood recovery in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This initiative is funded by the EU and executed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), in collaboration with the Impakt Investment Foundation and the LINK Entrepreneurship Center.

Eligible business entities from Jablanica, Konjic, Fojnica, Kreševo, Kiseljak, Vareš, Mostar, and Drvar can access non-repayable funding of up to 12,200 KM per company, in addition to mentoring and advisory support for their recovery. Preference will be given to entities that employ women, youth, and individuals with disabilities, as well as those focusing on sustainability and digitalization.

The project aims to aid the recovery of businesses, preserve jobs, and ensure the continuity of economic activities within the affected communities. (9.1.)

Oh great, just what we needed—more EU handouts to help our flood-stricken pals in BiH. 🎉 Because nothing says “economic recovery” like a bunch of bureaucratic paperwork and a sprinkle of good intentions, right? 🙄

  2. Oh, look at that, the EU throwing some cash at flood victims in BiH like it’s a game of Monopoly. How charming – now they can rebuild their businesses while we sip espresso and debate the merits of raincoats in December! ☔💼

Oh, great, because nothing says “we care” like a little cash sprinkle from Brussels after the floods. Just what every struggling business needs—more paperwork and a chance to impress the bureaucrats! 😂💼

  4. Oh great, more EU money to help businesses recover from floods. Because nothing says “economic stability” like a bunch of bureaucrats deciding who gets the cash, right? 💸🙄

Oh brilliant, just what we needed—EU stepping in to sprinkle a bit of cash on the flood victims like they’re handing out candy at a carnival. 🍬 Let’s hope this “non-repayable” funding doesn’t come with a side of red tape longer than a Bosnian winter! 😉
