Romanian Agriculture Minister: Four Billion Euros Allocated for Integrating Plant and Animal Production in Agricultural Policy 2028-2034

Bucharest – Romanian Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Florin Barbu, has urged farmers to integrate crop production with livestock farming, noting that the forthcoming Common Agricultural Policy for 2028-2034 will focus on this integration.

Barbu spoke on Tuesday in Zalău at an event hosted by the National Rural Network aimed at assisting farmers, recipients of European funding, and local and central authorities in accessing Common Agricultural Policy resources. The gathering also sought to find solutions to challenges faced in utilizing European agricultural and rural development funds.

During his address, Barbu outlined prospective agricultural strategies to help farmers prepare for future subsidies and European funding projects.

“I would like to announce that in the upcoming Agricultural Policy for 2028-2034, more than four billion euros will be allocated to animal husbandry, emphasizing the integration of crops with livestock. In Romania, subsidies will no longer be available for coupled support or certain eco-schemes unless there is an integration of crops with livestock. I aim to ensure that subsidies are directed towards domestic companies, not international entities,” declared Florin Barbu.

He further mentioned a robust program focused on developing food processing in Romania, which will rely on local raw materials. (5.8.2025)

  1. Seems like in 2028 we’ll be having a lovely farm-to-table experience, as long as your crops can chat with your cows first. 🐄💬 Four billion euros? Just what every farmer dreams of—playing matchmaker between veggies and livestock! 🍅🐖

Oh, brilliant! Just what we needed – a 4 billion euro integration plan to finally convince our cows and cabbages to get along like old mates at a pub. 🍻 Who knew farming was just a fancy matchmaking service?

Oh great, 4 billion euros for farmers to play matchmaker between crops and livestock – because nothing says ‘innovation’ quite like making sure the cows and carrots are on speaking terms. 🐄🥕 Hope they’ve got a good mediator on speed dial! 😂

  5. Oh, four billion euros to make plants and animals best mates? Brilliant! I can already see the cows learning to sow seeds while the wheat negotiates its grazing rights. 😂🌾

Looks like Florin’s got a grand plan to turn our farms into some sort of agricultural Tinder—swiping right on crops and livestock! 🐄🌾 Next up, maybe a reality show for the cows? 😂
