Stockholm – The EU’s Interreg Öresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak (ÖKS) has allocated 1.76 million euros to the Scandinavian dance initiative DOKS.
The project’s objective is to enhance the labor market for dancers and related professionals, including set designers, lighting technicians, and other support staff, with a focus on those facing uncertain employment situations.
Leading the initiative is Svenska Rum för Dans from Region Halland, with participation from a Danish and Norwegian dance institution.
“This is a significant advancement in improving working conditions for all individuals in the dance sector, extending beyond national boundaries to our broader region,” stated Annika Ostwald, project manager for Rum för Dans, in a press release.
