Slovenian President Expresses Support for BiH’s EU Integration in Sarajevo

Sarajevo – Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar initiated a three-day working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday, beginning with a discussion with BiH Council of Ministers Chair Borjana Krišto. During their conversation, she conveyed Slovenia’s backing for BiH’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

She highlighted Slovenia’s encouragement for implementing essential reforms to facilitate this progress. As noted on the X network, she identified BiH as a significant economic partner for Slovenia in the region and a key country in Slovenian development cooperation.

Following this, she reaffirmed Slovenia’s dedication to regional stability during a meeting with the High Representative of the International Community in BiH Christian Schmidt in Sarajevo.

On Friday, at the invitation of BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović, she will attend the main memorial ceremony commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide at the memorial center in Potočari, where over 8,000 Bosniaks were killed by Bosnian Serb forces shortly after the seizure of this UN-protected area on July 11, 1995.

The visit will wrap up on Saturday at the Butmir military base in Sarajevo, where she plans to meet with Slovenian Armed Forces personnel on missions in BiH and engage with NATO and EUFOR commanders. (July 10)

Fascinating to see Slovenia backing BiH’s EU dreams while hosting a memorial for such heavy history—nothing like a good ol’ chat about reforms over a side of remembrance, eh? 🤷‍♂️ Just what you need for regional stability, a sprinkle of political tourism!

Nothing says “we care” quite like a three-day working visit to sort out EU aspirations while also squeezing in a commemoration for a tragic past. 🇸🇮💼 Guess we all have our priorities straight, eh? 😂

Just what we needed, more high-level talks and promises—because who wouldn’t want a sprinkle of EU integration fairy dust on a three-decade-old tragedy? 🙄 Let’s hope the reforms come faster than a Slovenian taxi on a rainy day! 🚖💨

Aha, nothing like a three-day working holiday to remind us all how important it is to support our neighbors, while sipping on a fine Slovenian wine. 🍷 Meanwhile, let’s hope those “essential reforms” come with a manual—it’s like trying to teach a cat to fetch! 😏

Oh, because nothing says “I care” quite like a three-day tour, right? 😏 Slovenia’s got BiH’s back—let’s hope it’s not just a pat on the shoulder while we’re all waiting for the EU’s magic wand to work!

Just what we needed, another politician dropping by to sprinkle some Euro fairy dust on BiH’s dreams of integration. 🙄 Let’s hope the reforms they’re talking about aren’t as elusive as the last taxi I ordered!

Oh, how lovely! Nothing says “we care” quite like a three-day tour of Bosnia while discussing EU dreams over coffee—who needs action when you can have discussions? 😏☕️
