
European Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič and U.S. Trade Representative Jamison Greer met in Paris in a favorable environment. Following the meeting, Mr. Šefčovič shared on X that it was a “productive and constructive meeting” held during the Trade Ministerial.
“We are moving in the right direction at a good pace and keeping in close contact to sustain the momentum,” the Trade Commissioner noted, concerning ongoing tariff negotiations between the two parties.
According to a spokesperson for the European Commission on trade, discussions regarding tariffs have advanced to the document exchange phase, reflecting positive progress. This follows a phone conversation between European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and U.S. President Donald Trump. (4/6/25)
