Oscar Winner Assaulted and Detained in Israeli-Occupied West Bank

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have denied arresting any Palestinian from inside an ambulance.

The incident took place in Susiya, a Palestinian village in the southern West Bank, as dozens of Israeli settlers stormed the area. Susiya is featured in a documentary by Ballal, an activist group, the Center for Jewish Nonviolence, told the Associated Press. The group claimed that soldiers blindfolded Ballal and took him away.

“Ballal has since disappeared, and it is unclear whether he is receiving medical treatment or what his current situation is,” said Abraham.

A spokesperson for the IDF told POLITICO that the confrontation began when “several terrorists” threw rocks at Israeli citizens. This led to a violent clash involving “mutual rock-hurling between Palestinians and Israelis at the scene,” prompting the arrival of Israeli police and military forces.

“The forces apprehended three Palestinians suspected of throwing rocks at them, as well as an Israeli civilian involved in the confrontation,” the spokesperson said. “The detainees were taken for further questioning by the Israel Police. An Israeli citizen injured in the incident was evacuated for medical treatment.”

A video posted by Abraham on X showed masked assailants, some wielding sticks, running and throwing rocks in the dark. Another video appeared to show a masked individual shoving and hitting activists.

Former Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, a vocal critic of Israel’s military actions in Gaza, condemned the incident. Expressing his “dismay” over reports that Ballal had been “lynched,” he urged for “maximum diplomatic and economic sanctions” against Israel in a post on X.

Oh, the irony of an Oscar winner getting caught in a real-life drama that’s more thrilling than his award-winning flicks! 🎬 Perhaps next year’s best picture will be titled “Gone in a Blindfold!” 😂

Oh, nothing like a little Oscar-worthy drama in a village to spice up the daily grind, eh? It’s almost like they’re auditioning for a new season of “Survivor: Middle East Edition” – just what we needed! 🎭🇮🇱

Oh, brilliant! Who knew being an Oscar winner came with a side of “disappearing act” in the West Bank? Guess the IDF’s idea of a red carpet is a blindfold and a ride in “an ambulance”—must be the latest trend in humanitarian chic! 🎭✨

Oh, just another day in the West Bank, where even Oscar winners get the full “rock ‘n’ roll” experience – who knew Hollywood needed a new travel guide? 🎬🤣 Can’t wait for the documentary: “Survivor: Susiya Edition.”

Oh, fantastic! A movie star gets the red carpet treatment in the West Bank—just the kind of PR every Oscar winner dreams of, right? 🎬👏 But who needs a script when you’ve got real-life drama unfolding like a dodgy soap opera? 🤷‍♂️

Oh, look at that, an Oscar winner making headlines for all the wrong reasons—who needs a red carpet when you can get whisked away in an ambulance, right? 🎭💼 Just another day in the West Bank, where the rocks are flying and the drama is more intense than a bad Italian soap opera! 🍝

Blimey, who knew Oscar winners could moonlight as modern-day heroes in a rock-throwing contest? 🍿 Can’t wait for the sequel: “The Great Ambulance Heist!” 🎬

Looks like the Oscars need a new category: Best Performance in a Real-Life Drama – starring an activist whisked away by the IDF while the world tunes in for the latest episode of “As the Rocks Fly.” Bravo, what a show! 🙄🎬
