On the evening of Monday, March 24, 2025, a serious road accident took place on the Maldersesteenweg in Londerzeel, Belgium. A 15-year-old Londerzeel boy was driving an electric bike when he came into collision with a car.
The child was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital. The female car driver, who is 40 years old and a resident of the same town, was shocked but not injured. She also passed a breathalyzer test that returned negative results, and alcohol was not an issue in the accident.
Why is Maldersesteenweg closed after the Londerzeel crash?
The Maldersesteenweg is still closed while police investigate the crash. Police Commissioner Frank Maes of the KLM police zone said they are working with the public prosecutor’s office to figure out exactly what happened.
Frank Maes mentioned that they’re blank”>going to have a special person look at the road, the weather, and what the boy and the woman were doing before the crash. They want to see if anything else, like speeding or a problem with the bike, caused the crash.
The road near the Herbodin/Kouterbaan intersection on the Maldersesteenweg is closed. The police asked people to stay away from the area because they were still investigating the crash. They told everyone about the investigation on social media.
They mentioned that people who live in the area should watch for updates about the road and the investigation. The police are worried about the boy who was injured and will keep checking on him.
