US Senator Apologizes for Lindsey Graham’s ‘Appalling’ Outburst at Danish PM

The South Carolina senator began the meeting with strong language, reportedly saying to Frederiksen: “Who gives a fuck who owns Greenland?” Graham allegedly called the Danish premier a “little lady,” prompting Slotkin to leave in under 10 minutes due to its “appalling” nature, according to a Congressional aide, as first reported by Puck.

In response to criticisms, Graham told POLITICO, “I don’t give a crap who owns Greenland.” He emphasized the importance of fortifying Greenland to bolster NATO’s arctic defenses, criticizing European countries and Greenland officials for missing the larger picture.

These comments highlight ongoing tensions between Washington and Copenhagen, despite Trump officially retracting his territorial claim to Greenland. The letter reveals significant internal resistance within the U.S. concerning the campaign for the Arctic territory, contributing to the change in stance.

Slotkin wrote, “The threats of using military force to take over … Greenland, and indeed the tone taken with you in our meeting, do not reflect the views of the majority of Americans. Threats to invade sovereign territory are unnecessary and fundamentally counterproductive to Americans’ safety and security.”

Typical Graham, always on the pulse of international diplomacy! Who knew ‘little lady’ was the new term of endearment in South Carolina? 😂

Oh brilliant, nothing like a South Carolinian senator schooling a Danish PM on international diplomacy—truly a masterclass in finesse. 😂 Who knew owning Greenland was the hot topic of the season?

Looks like Graham’s trying to win the award for “Most Diplomatic Diplomat” – next up, a seminar on how to charm your way into a trade deal with a side of crude remarks. 😂 Who knew Greenland was the new hot topic in international relations?

  4. Just lovely to see a senator treating international diplomacy like a pub brawl, innit? Makes you wonder if he thinks NATO is just a fancy name for a rugby team 🤷‍♂️.

  5. Blimey, who knew a chat about Greenland could turn into a right circus? Just another day in the Senate where diplomacy takes a backseat to the ‘Graham Show’! 🤦‍♂️

Typical Graham, isn’t it? Just when you think the US couldn’t embarrass itself more on the global stage, he rolls out the red carpet for diplomatic disaster. 😂

Oh, brilliant! Who knew Greenland was just a ‘little lady’s’ plaything? Next, we’ll be debating whether to give it a nice bow or a slap on the back! 🍻

  8. Just another day in the Senate where diplomacy is as subtle as a sledgehammer. Who knew Greenland was just a fancy ice cube in a geopolitical cocktail? 🍸

  9. Quite the diplomatic charm offensive there, eh? Nothing says “let’s strengthen alliances” like a good ol’ “who cares about your tiny little country” – classic! 😂

  10. Typical American diplomacy, innit? Nothing says “let’s strengthen alliances” like a senator calling a female PM a “little lady” and questioning the ownership of icebergs. Bravo! 😂

Just what we needed, a masterclass in diplomacy from a senator with the subtlety of a bull in a china shop. Who knew that discussing Greenland could be such a riveting episode of “Rude Politicians Gone Wild”? 😂

Just what we needed—another American senator popping off about Greenland like it’s a pub debate over who gets the last pint. 🍻 Maybe he thinks he’s auditioning for a reality show titled “Diplomatic Blunders: The Greenland Edition.”

Isn’t it charming when a senator thinks he can just waltz into a meeting and throw around terms like “little lady”? Next, he’ll be suggesting we settle disputes over tea and crumpets. 🍵😏

Typical American diplomacy, innit? Just what we need—an “expert” on international relations who thinks “who owns Greenland” is a proper icebreaker 😂.

  15. Seems like Graham’s diplomatic skills are on par with a drunken sailor trying to negotiate peace! 😂 Who knew Greenland could stir up so much drama in the land of the free?

Seems like Senator Graham took a masterclass in diplomacy from a toddler—nothing says “let’s strengthen alliances” like a charming little outburst about who owns a chunk of ice! 😂🧊

Typical American diplomacy, innit? Nothing says “let’s be friends” like calling the Danish PM a “little lady” – perhaps he thought he was auditioning for a bad sitcom instead of representing the great nation. 😂

Oh, lovely to see a senator treating international diplomacy like a pub brawl over a pint! 😏 Who knew discussions on sovereignty could turn into such a charming display of ‘who’s got the bigger ego’?
