Trump is set to visit Asia later this month for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) meeting in Malaysia and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in South Korea. A visit to Japan is also anticipated.
However, according to CNN, key logistical arrangements have not been made as officials prioritize a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, amid rising trade tensions between Beijing and Washington.
Kim has expressed willingness to meet Trump again. “Personally, I still have good memories of U.S. President Trump,” Kim stated last month. He added, “If the U.S. drops its hollow obsession with denuclearization and wants to pursue peaceful coexistence with North Korea based on the recognition of reality, there is no reason for us not to sit down with the U.S.”
