“We have a very mature intelligence and security apparatus in the United Kingdom,” the official remarked. “It’s a very regular occurrence that new technologies and products emerge onto the global economy. I just want to reassure people in Britain … the system we have will examine this, as it does with every other innovation, to ensure safety is prioritized from the onset.”

Meanwhile, concerns are escalating in Germany, where data protection authorities are reportedly scrutinizing the app. According to Zeit, preliminary investigations into the company’s data handling practices are underway, with officials considering possible regulatory action.
