Ukrainian Prime Minister Resigns Amid Significant Government Reshuffle

Svyrydenko, appointed prime minister in July 2025, acknowledged the changes in a post on X, stating, “At this moment, it is critically important to unite all our strength and resources to make Ukraine stronger.”

Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for Svyrydenko’s steady and effective work as prime minister and her productive service, without detailing her new position.

The Ukrainian parliament must approve the prime minister’s resignation, leading to the entire government’s resignation. Zelenskyy mentioned upcoming changes among law enforcement leaders.

In her post on X, Svyrydenko discussed “next steps” with Zelenskyy but gave no further details, stating her readiness to serve Ukraine and strengthen its position towards peace.

Svyrydenko, former economy minister, became prime minister last summer at 39 after securing a mineral agreement between Ukraine and the U.S.

Zelenskyy offered her a role leading a new area in Ukraine’s international relations, assigning each foreign policy priority to an experienced individual to fulfill the agreed outcomes expected by Ukrainians.

Just another day in Ukraine’s political soap opera, where resignations are the new trend and “next steps” seem to be a euphemism for “let’s see how this goes.” 🤷‍♂️✨ Who knew governance could be as exciting as watching paint dry?

Resigning to “unite all our strength” sounds like a fab plan, especially when the only thing uniting them is a game of musical chairs in the parliament. Who knew reshuffling could be a national sport? 🤷‍♂️💼
