‘Trump Dance’ Takes American Sports by Storm

Cage fighter Jon Jones kicked off the weekend by showcasing some Trump-inspired dance moves moments after his victory at the Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday night. The event, held in front of a star-studded audience that included Trump himself, billionaire Elon Musk, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, incoming Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and other prominent MAGA figures, saw Jones embracing the former president’s signature moves.

Trump wasted no time in sharing a video of Jones’ tribute on his Truth Social account the following day.

Meanwhile, Trump’s distinctive dance appeared to take on a life of its own in the National Football League on Sunday. During a game between the Detroit Lions and the Jacksonville Jaguars, several Lions defensive players, led by Za’Darius Smith, busted out the Trump dance to celebrate a pivotal moment in their huge victory. Smith even added his own twist, imitating Trump’s now-famous golf swing move, which has become a recent staple of the former president’s stage performances.

Over in Las Vegas, Raiders tight end Brock Bowers also joined in on the viral trend. After scoring a touchdown in the third quarter, Bowers celebrated with the same dance, drawing attention from fans and reporters alike. When asked about it by a USA Today reporter after the Raiders’ 34-19 loss to the Miami Dolphins, Bowers acknowledged the influence.

“I’ve seen everyone do it,” he said. “I watched the UFC fight last night and saw Jon Jones do it. I’m a big UFC fan, so I thought it was cool.”

It seems Trump’s iconic footwork has found new life in the world of sports, captivating audiences from the octagon to the football field.

  1. Well, it seems that the ‘Trump Dance’ has managed to waltz its way into American sports, proving once again that nothing says athletic prowess quite like gyrating to the beat of a reality TV star. One can only hope the next trend involves a nice cuppa tea and a game of cricket—because clearly, America is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the refined elegance of proper sportsmanship. Bravo, lads!

  2. Ah, the ‘Trump Dance’—truly the peak of American athleticism we never knew we needed. Who knew that a bit of jiggery-pokery inspired by a former president could turn sporting events into a circus? Honestly, it’s as if Americans have swapped their sportsmanship for a spot of daftness, and I can’t wait to see how they’ll incorporate avocado toast into their next rugby match.

  3. Ah, the “Trump Dance” – because nothing screams athletic prowess quite like mimicking a former president’s unique interpretation of rhythm. Clearly, American sports were just waiting for a flamboyant shuffle to elevate their game to new levels of absurdity. Who knew all it took to invigorate the stadium was a bit of orange-tinted theatrics and a dollop of sheer bravado? Cheerio to that!

Well, who knew that the elegant art of flailing one’s limbs could capture the hearts of American sports fans? It’s as if they’ve taken a page from the “dancing on tables” playbook of a dodgy Euro nightclub—except here, it’s all about the orange glow and oversized egos. Truly, nothing says athletic prowess quite like a collective boogie that would make a drunken uncle at a wedding look like a prima ballerina.
