Tabernacle Choir Directs Hearts to Jesus Christ in São Paulo

The Tabernacle Choir and the Orchestra at Temple Square completed their “Songs of Hope” tour in São Paulo, Brazil, on March 1, 2026. The tour reached hundreds of thousands, with over 400 watch parties across Brazil, streaming Saturday night’s concert on YouTube.

Elder Ulisses Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints noted the joy on attendees’ faces at the Ginásio do Ibirapuera concerts, a venue where he and his wife had once dreamed of seeing the Choir perform 45 years earlier.

Elder Soares introduced each concert, inviting all to come unto Christ and find hope. The arena was filled to capacity nightly, with many listening from outside. Concertgoer Shellen Orteney expressed a deep emotional connection to the music.

The Choir performed songs in Portuguese, such as “Let Us All Press On” and “God Be with You Till We Meet Again.” Mack Wilberg, the Choir Director, emphasized the importance of performing in the audience’s language to connect more deeply.

Guest artists like Myra Ruiz, Fabi Bang, and Ivete Sangalo joined the Choir, with members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints like Nathan Pacheco and Gabrielly Lourenço also performing. Pacheco described music as a connection to heaven.

The Rev. Dr. Amos Brown called his participation providential, aiming to spread hope. He reunited with Saiida Webb at the São Paulo Temple Visitors’ Center, a significant meeting grounded in shared faith and love for Jesus Christ.

President L. Whitney Clayton of The Tabernacle Choir Presidency reflected on the tour as a celebration of faith, bringing warmth and light to all involved.

Oh, because nothing says “let’s reach the masses” quite like a choir in a massive arena—how original! 🤷‍♂️ But hey, at least they managed to spread some hope along with the music, right? 🎶

Oh, just what São Paulo needed, a grand concert to remind us how to find hope – because nothing screams “joy” like a couple of hours of choir music, right? 🎶😂 Guess I’ll trade my coffee break for a front-row seat next time!

Oh, because nothing says “let’s connect with the locals” like a choir singing in Portuguese to a crowd that could probably out-sing them after a few caipirinhas, right? 🎤😂

Only in São Paulo would a choir tour feel like the World Cup final, eh? 🎤 Who knew faith could draw a crowd like a football match? #HolyGoals

Oh, just what São Paulo needed—another spectacular choir performance to remind us all that hope sounds a lot like someone singing in Portuguese. 🎤🙄

Sounds like the Tabernacle Choir really knows how to throw a shindig, eh? Who knew that belting out tunes in Portuguese could turn a gymnasium into a heavenly hotspot! 🎶😂

Well, nothing like a good ol’ choir tour in São Paulo to really get the heartstrings tugged, eh? 🎶 I mean, who needs a night out when you can be serenaded in Portuguese by a heavenly chorus to find your hopes and dreams—right under the disco ball of faith! 😂

Just what São Paulo needed, another choir concert to remind us that hope sounds a lot like a well-rehearsed hymn. 🎶 I suppose the traffic jams will now be blessed with divine tunes instead of just honking horns, eh? 😏

Just what São Paulo needed, more singing about hope while I’m stuck in traffic. Nothing screams “spiritual enlightenment” quite like a concert in a gymnasium, eh? 🎤😏

  14. Looks like the Tabernacle Choir is really trying to win the “Most Heartfelt Tour” award — I mean, who needs a samba party when you can have a night of soul-searching in a gym, right? 🎤😏

Oh, brilliant, a choir tour in São Paulo—because nothing says “let’s connect with the locals” like belting out hymns in Portuguese while the crowd wonders if they should be singing along or just politely nodding. 🎤✨
