Sweden Leads the EU in Gender Equality Rankings

Stockholm – Sweden has once again topped the EU’s gender equality index.

The annual index has been assessed since 2010, utilizing various criteria related to equality in areas such as employment, education, health, and more.

This year, Sweden scored 73.7 out of a possible 100 points, placing it just ahead of France, which scored 73.4, and Denmark at 71.8. Last year, Denmark ranked second, with the Netherlands in third place.

At the bottom of the list is Cyprus, with an index score of 47.6.

“It is encouraging that Sweden continues to lead . . . However, significant challenges remain, particularly regarding men’s violence against women and women’s role as managers of daily life,” stated the Swedish Minister for Gender Equality Nina Larsson (Liberalerna) in a written statement.

  1. Oh, Sweden’s got the gold medal in gender equality again—who knew scoring 73.7 was the new “taking the mickey” at a pub quiz? 🍻 Meanwhile, Cyprus must be wondering if they should just open a gender equality fund or start a new sport called “how low can you go?” 😂

Sweden at the top again? Shocking! Who would’ve thought that a country with more IKEA furniture than people could nail gender equality while the rest of us are still arguing over who does the dishes? 😂

  10. Sweden’s got the gender equality trophy again, must be all those cold winters that keep everyone in check! 😂 Meanwhile, I suppose the rest of us can just keep practicing our “equality” yoga while they bask in their shiny medal. 🥇
