Scientology Volunteers Deliver Crucial Humanitarian Aid After Natural Disasters in Venezuela

In response to recent natural disasters in Venezuela, nearly 400 Volunteer Ministers from the Scientology organization have been deployed between Caracas and La Guaira to provide aid in the form of supplies, rescue coordination, and emotional support. This effort, coordinated with several branches of the Church of Scientology and allied rescue organizations, has become one of the largest humanitarian operations in the country. The initiative includes around-the-clock assistance, such as logistics, donations management, and support for affected communities.

Rhaiza Ojeda, Director of Scientology in Venezuela, highlighted the extensive coordination needed among various stakeholders to manage and distribute approximately 20 tons of essential goods, such as food, clothing, and medical supplies. Efforts are focused on high-risk areas like Caracas and La Guaira, with ongoing assessments to identify further needs, including supplies for infants and technical support for damaged structures.

A significant part of the operation involves partnering with the Mexican rescue organization Topos, who bring expertise in disaster scenarios. Volunteer Ministers help facilitate the transportation and support of specialized personnel, ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid and the restoration of critical services.

Venezuelan actress and humanitarian Ruddy Rodríguez emphasized that the response is a sustained commitment, not a fleeting effort. Rodríguez expressed the importance of maintaining hope and urgency, stressing the need for continuous action in rescue and recovery operations.

Volunteer support extends beyond Latin America, with European Scientologists and volunteers from various countries contributing to the initiative. This international response illustrates the Volunteer Ministers’ core principle of quickly addressing human suffering with tangible help and solidarity.

Rodríguez also underscores the focus on training individuals as Volunteer Ministers, regardless of religious affiliation, to contribute to the ongoing mission of aiding Venezuelans in need. The program, established by L. Ron Hubbard, promotes practical assistance during disasters and times of social need.

Ivan Arjona, representing the Church of Scientology in interactions with European institutions, highlighted the Venezuelan operation as an embodiment of human dignity, rooted in rapid, compassionate response to the crisis. Arjona acknowledged the collaborative efforts of various groups working together to enhance the effectiveness of relief operations.

Overall, the current efforts in Venezuela include organizing centers for displaced families, distributing necessities, and maintaining a disciplined coordination of resources to maximize the impact of the humanitarian efforts.

Isn’t it just delightful when a group known for their “unique” beliefs suddenly becomes the go-to for humanitarian aid? Truly, nothing says ‘we care’ quite like a bunch of Volunteer Ministers swooping in with their 20 tons of essentials—I mean, who needs a government when you’ve got Scientology, right? 😏
