Bratislava – Boris Susko, the Minister of Justice of Slovakia, claims that Members of the European Parliament (EP) visiting Slovakia to monitor the rule of law and EU fund management are not genuinely interested in facts or meaningful dialogue. This assertion comes from a recent social media post by the minister regarding the delegations’ activities, according to TASR.
“Despite extensive discussions at both the Ministry of Justice and the Government Office, the MEPs disregard all explanations and arguments presented to them. I want to emphasize that these issues have already been addressed in discussions with the European Commission, which concluded that the legal framework of Slovakia is completely aligned with EU law concerning the protection of the financial interests of the European Union,” the minister remarked.
He accused the MEPs of “kicking the ball out of the net” merely to damage Slovakia’s reputation in the European Parliament by distorting topics intentionally.
“Rather than engaging in a professional exchange of views, they exhibit a distinctly political and subjective stance,” the Minister of Justice evaluated the situation. (June 3)
