Russian Domodedovo Airport Set for Auction Sale

Domodedovo Airport, seized for state ownership, is set to be auctioned in early 2026. Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov announced this in December, noting interest from potential buyers.

“The package will be available at an open auction, complying with legal regulations. I am confident the auction will proceed, as investors are interested,” Siluanov stated on Rossiya 24 TV.

Previously, in September, Siluanov mentioned plans to sell the airport by late 2025, hinting at an existing buyer without revealing details.

In June, the Moscow Region Arbitration Court, acting on the Prosecutor General’s Office’s request, seized Domodedovo Airport’s assets for the state. The prosecutor’s office sued owner Dmitry Kamenshchik, partner Valery Kogan, and associated companies, seeking to nullify privatization deals that allegedly allowed foreign control over a strategic asset.
