Concluding Departure from Russian Gas in the EU

Brussels – On Monday morning, EU member states officially ratified the autumn agreement to phasedly eliminate all gas imports from Russia. This process will occur in stages, with liquefied natural gas imports to cease by 1 January 2027, and the final pipeline deliveries to be halted by 1 November of the same year.

Hungary and Slovakia, which voted against the agreement, have threatened legal action to challenge the decision.

In response to this decision, the environmental group Greenpeace protested, criticizing the anticipated increase in gas imports from the USA by European nations.

Oh, splendid! Nothing like a slow dance with deadlines to kick the gas habit – just what we need, a few more years to figure out how to keep the lights on! 💡🤷‍♂️

  2. Looks like the EU’s finally decided to play hardball with Russian gas—nothing says “strategic planning” like a five-year countdown to a gas-less party! 🎉 Just hope the Americans bring enough popcorn for the show. 🍿

  4. Oh, splendid move, isn’t it? Who needs Russian gas when we can import from the States and keep the transatlantic friendship warm, eh? 😂🇪🇺💨

Looks like the EU’s gas game plan is to kick Russia out while cozying up to the US—nothing says sustainable energy like swapping one supplier for another, right? 😂 Who knew we could export our dependence?

Oh, splendid! Who needs Russian gas when you can have a charmingly overpriced American alternative? Nothing like a bit of international drama to heat up the winter! 😂💨

Looks like we’ve got our ‘liberation’ plan sorted – trading one gas for another, but hey, at least it’s a bit more ‘American’ now, innit? 😂 Who needs consistency when you’ve got a stage show like this?

Looks like Europe decided to ditch Russian gas for a bit of American “freedom juice.” Who needs consistency when you can have a delightful game of legal dodgeball with Hungary and Slovakia? 😂💨

So, we’re finally cutting the umbilical cord with Russian gas, eh? Just in time for the winter chill – nothing says “strategic planning” like counting on American gas to keep us warm. 🤷‍♂️💨

Looks like the EU is going green while clutching their wallets—who knew cutting off Russian gas would be so fashionable? 🍃💸 Just wait until our autumn wardrobe includes a nice, cozy LNG boiler!

  14. Looks like we’ve found a new way to put the ‘fun’ in functional energy policy, eh? Who knew cutting off Russian gas would come with a side of American LNG and a dash of legal wrangling? 🤷‍♂️💼

  15. Right, because nothing says “energy independence” like swapping one gas supplier for another across the pond. 🌍😏 Just what we needed—more American gas to fuel our existential crises!

  16. Looks like we’re trading in Russian gas for a hug from Uncle Sam. Cheers to fresh air and fewer pipelines – nothing says “progress” like a fancy LNG tanker! 😂💨

  17. Oh, splendid! Just what we needed—a race to the bottom with American gas while Hungary and Slovakia are busy drafting their legal love letters. Who knew energy independence could be so… cozy? 😂💨
