Skopje – Today, the Ministry of European Affairs hosted a meeting focused on the coordination of donor assistance, attended by representatives from the EU Delegation, various diplomatic missions, and international partners in Skopje. The goal of the meeting was to enhance collaboration and improve the effectiveness of donor fund allocation in support of North Macedonia’s Reform Agenda and European integration.
Minister of European Affairs Orhan Murtezani highlighted the expanded role of the ministry following the transition of the Secretariat for European Affairs into the Ministry of European Affairs.
– In addition to overseeing the accession process and managing IPA and EU funds, the MEA is now also responsible for coordinating the Growth Plan and the Reform Agenda. This expansion necessitates improvements in the organization of coordination mechanisms to prevent duplication of resources and activities, and to ensure more effective use of donor support, stated Murtezani.
To achieve this, Minister Murtezani noted that existing mechanisms are being refined, including the sectoral working groups, information sharing via the NPAA platform, and the reintroduction of presentations on donor strategies. (January 30)
