KSA Boechout Hosts 25th Tent Party in Antwerp with Mayor T’Sijen

Boechout (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – KSA Bochout’s 25th Antwerp tent party expects 4,000 visitors tonight, Oct 3, 2025. All tickets are sold out except 30. Multiple events run this weekend, with Mayor Koen T’Sijen and police ensuring safety.

As VRT News reported, KSA Boechout, in the province of Antwerp, Belgium, is set to host one of the largest tent parties in the Antwerp region for the 25th year in a row. In recent years, many youth movements have stopped organising similar events. They say a single-evening tent party often does not bring in enough money to cover costs. Setting up a large tent for just one night requires a lot of work, staff, and equipment.

“Putting up a tent for just one evening is not very profitable, so we do more activities in it.”

Xander Meeuwesen, head leader KSA

How is KSA Boechout ensuring a safe and successful tent party this weekend?

KSA Boechout divides costs across several events. This week, the schedule includes a quiz night, a family day on Sunday, Oct 5, 2025, and a mussel-themed dinner during the annual fair on Tuesday, Oct 7, 2025.

Mayor Koen T’Sijen of Boechout-Vremde (PRO) said,

“This weekend is a real party weekend in Boechout.”

He added that the events always draw large crowds, so safety will be a top priority. To keep everything under control, a permanent police team will be on site.

A bike unit will patrol the surrounding streets, while undercover officers circulate through the crowd. A dedicated traffic unit will also be deployed by the police department. Additionally, a reserve police authority is slated to be on standby for emergencies if necessary.

“We’re expecting a great evening with a large crowd, great songs, and hopefully a steady stream,”

says Meeuwesen.

KSA Boechout began hosting its annual tent party in 1999, and it has since grown to be one of the largest events in the Antwerp region. The annual tent party’s 10th edition was in 2008, and then its 20th in 2018. In 2025, it will be in its 25th edition, which has grown to a whole series of events over the years.

Oh sure, because nothing says “top-tier governance” like a tent party with 4,000 people and a police squadron on standby. Just what we needed to boost our image – a raucous tent bash instead of tackling real issues! 🎉🤣

Oh, what a surprise! A tent party in Belgium—because nothing screams ‘cultural milestone’ like 4,000 people crammed under canvas, right? 🎪🥳 Can’t wait for the police presence to ensure we don’t turn it into a full-blown circus! 😂

Imagine it, the 25th tent party! Because obviously, what every Belgian really needs is a massive canvas shelter filled with 4,000 people and some questionable choices in music. 🎉🍻

Another weekend, another tent raised like it’s the last bastion of fun in Boechout! 🎪 Who knew 4,000 people could fit under one roof… or should I say, one very large piece of fabric? 😂

Next thing you know, they’ll be charging for the air in the tent! 🎪 It’s not a party until the police have a full-time gig keeping the shenanigans in check, right? 😂

  6. Oh, a tent party for the 25th time? How original! 🤦‍♂️ I can hardly wait for the thrilling thrill of paying for overpriced beer under a canvas roof—what a revolutionary concept! 🍻🎪

Just what Antwerp needed—another tent party to remind us that putting up a marquee for one night is the new rocket science. 🎪 But hey, if the mayor’s on board, who needs profit, right? 😏

Another tent party? Just what Antwerp needed—because who wouldn’t want to celebrate 25 years of putting up a massive canvas for a night? 🎉😂

A tent party for 25 years? Now that’s what I call true commitment—must be the only time in Belgium where putting up a tent is more popular than putting up with the weather! 😂🍻

A tent party for 25 years? Blimey, I guess that’s what they call a long-term commitment in Belgium – who needs a stable economy when you’ve got 4,000 people crammed under canvas, eh? 🥳🍻

Another tent party? Brilliant! I can hardly wait to see how much fun 4,000 people can have under a glorified canvas with the mayor keeping an eye on the safety while we pretend it’s not just a massive excuse for a pint or two. 🍻

Ah, a tent party in Antwerp with a mayor who thinks he’s throwing a Glastonbury, splendid! 🤪 I guess when the thrill of politics runs dry, one must resort to mussels and party tents to keep the folks entertained. 🎉

Gotta love a tent party that takes 25 years to figure out how to make it profitable – I suppose it’s all about quality over quantity, right? 😂 Nothing screams “we know how to throw a bash” like a police unit on standby for a few tents and a couple of mussels! 🍻

KSA Boechout’s 25th tent party? Talk about a classic Belgian tradition, right up there with chocolate and a good drizzle! 🍻 Just hope the mayor’s not too busy tripping over his own words while ensuring safety—might need an undercover unit for that too! 😜

Isn’t it charming how they’ve managed to turn a simple tent into a 25-year-long commitment? 🎪 Nothing screams “party” like a permanent police presence and a mussel-themed dinner! 🍽️😂
