Kevin Orban and Marc Van Ginkel Break Darts Record in Brecht

Brecht (Eurotoday Newspaper) – Kevin Orban and Marc Van Ginkel made headlines after successfully breaking the record for darts in Brecht, Belgium, on January 20, 2025.

Kevin and Marc took turns, spending approximately 61 hours of nonstop darts throwing to help raise money for breast cancer causes and support. Friends and family filled the sports hall, cheering for the record-breaking moment.

**“I don’t regret it, but this was really the last time,”**

said Kevin, who had previously attempted two record-breaking feats.

Orban and Van Ginkel of Pink Flight set a world record by playing darts for 61 hours continuously. The game began on Friday at 7:00 AM and continued until Sunday evening, pushing their physical and mental limits. The last dart Kevin threw nearly caused him to collapse, but the crowd rushed to congratulate him.

**“I’m dead, dead, dead tired,”**

he admitted, reflecting on the intensity of the experience. Despite the exhaustion, both men expressed satisfaction with the challenge, which had emotional significance as well, highlighting the journey behind setting the record.

This remarkable event was organized to raise funds for Pink Flight, a foundation Kevin founded to support breast cancer patients.

**“It has been some time since I became a widower through cancer. My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer,”**

Kevin shared, explaining his motivation. Since then, he has organized events to raise money, aiming to make a tangible difference by funding items such as chemo caps and toys for children in hospitals. While the total amount raised this weekend has not been disclosed, Pink Flight received a check for 2,700 euros from the organizers of the Dutch darts tournament, Betuwe Cup.

Significance of darts records and community support

Breaking darts records often goes beyond competitiveness, bringing communities together for a cause. This rings true for Kevin Orban, who has undertaken similar record-breaking efforts to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer. His dedication stems from deeply personal experiences that resonate with many others who have been affected by this disease.

Such community-driven events not only succeed in raising funds but also foster a sense of unity among participants and supporters alike. They underscore the power of collective action in addressing challenges like breast cancer. Events like these highlight the role organizations like Pink Flight play in providing support to patients and their families during difficult times.

Increasingly, sports and physical challenges are becoming venues for raising awareness and funds for important causes. These initiatives not only promote fitness and social interaction but also shine a light on pressing health issues. Kevin’s determination to use his passion for darts to support breast cancer patients is an example of how personal stories can inspire others to take action.

As Kevin emotionally noted:

**“There were also tears involved,”**

illustrating that such undertakings are not only physically demanding but also deeply emotional. The success of this event showcases sports as a powerful unifying force, bringing people together for a singular purpose and raising awareness in the ongoing battle against breast cancer.
