Funding Committed for ‘Biotechnological Revolution’

Brussels – The EU is aiming for a “biotechnological revolution” with new streamlined regulations and improved access to funding.

A recently introduced strategy by the EU Commission features a proposed investment group designed to connect innovative ideas with private investors. Additionally, various permitting processes will be expedited and simplified.

“The bioeconomy is not science fiction. It is already here – and I am wearing it,” stated Environment Commissioner Jessika Roswall, showcasing a suit made from wood fiber during a press conference in Brussels on Thursday.

The strategy also entails updates to regulations concerning bioplastics and construction materials, along with support for biogas production.

Just what we need, another “revolution” in biotech – because clearly, the last dozen didn’t quite take off, did they? 🙄 I can’t wait to see those wood fiber suits hit the runway; fashion week will never be the same! 🍂🕺
