A former high-ranking Brussels official has delivered a heartfelt message to the United Kingdom: “You’re still in our hearts.”
Donald Tusk, the Polish Prime Minister and former European Council president who played a key role in Brexit negotiations from 2014 to 2019, shared this sentimental sentiment in a social media post on Thursday.
“We still miss you,” Tusk wrote, referencing a recent YouGov poll that revealed only 30 percent of Brits now support the U.K.’s departure from the EU — the lowest level recorded since the 2016 referendum. He punctuated his comment with a winking-face emoji, adding a touch of levity to his wistful remark.
