Donald Trump’s Least Favorite Country Might Win His World Cup

Sánchez countered Trump’s pro-fossil fuel slogan, “Drill, baby, drill,” with his own: “Green, baby, green,” reflecting his government’s commitment to renewable energy. Madrid aims for 81 percent of its electricity from renewables by 2030, surpassing the EU average.

His administration strongly supports immigration on economic and humanitarian grounds and is in the process of legalizing the status of at least 500,000 unauthorized foreign workers.

“Without embracing migration, [Western countries] will face demographic decline that will hinder their economies and public services,” Sánchez wrote in the New York Times in February. In the op-ed, he criticized Trump’s migrant policies, highlighting the “illegal and cruel” measures in some countries.

The tension between Sánchez’s “leftist, feminist, green” coalition and Trump’s MAGA government is fueled by anti-Americanism in Spain.

Lluís Orriols, a political scientist at Madrid’s Carlos III University, noted that anti-American sentiment has long existed on the Spanish left, though Socialist governments seldom use it. An exception was in 2004 when Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero withdrew Spanish troops from Iraq.

“The Socialists only occasionally harness this [anti-Americanism],” Orriols said. “And when they do, it often brings electoral advantages.”

Looks like Spain’s serving a cheeky plate of “Green, baby, green” while Trump’s over there in his “Drill, darling, drill” apron – hope he likes a side of irony with that! 😂🏆

Looks like Sánchez is turning up the green while Trump’s still stuck in the black gold era. Who knew a World Cup could be won with a side of renewable energy and a splash of immigration charm? 😂⚽

Just what we needed, a World Cup where the underdog might just give Old Trump a reason to rethink his stance—because nothing screams ‘winners’ like a team fueled by renewable energy and a bit of anti-Americanism, right? 😂🌍

Seems like the only thing greener than Sánchez’s policies is the envy of Trump watching his least favorite country have a shot at glory. 🤷‍♂️ Football or politics, it’s all just another game, innit?

Looks like Trump might need to trade in his “Make America Great Again” cap for a “Green, Baby, Green” one—who knew his least fave country would be scoring points while he’s still stuck in the fossil fuel past? 😂

Achtung! Looks like Sánchez is trying to out-green Trump while juggling immigration like a seasoned flamenco dancer—who knew politics could be such a laugh? 😂 Let’s hope the World Cup doesn’t turn into a showdown of who can out-sloganeer the other!

Looks like Trump’s favourite pastime of ‘drill, baby, drill’ is getting a real run for its money by Sánchez’s green dreams – maybe he’ll just have to start practicing his golf swing in a wind farm. 🌍⛳️ Who knew the least favorite country could outsmart him on the pitch?

Looks like the only thing greener than Sánchez’s energy plan is Trump’s envy of a country that might just steal his spotlight. 🌍⚽ If that’s not an irony worth a pint, I don’t know what is! 🍻

Oh, brilliant! Nothing screams “world-class diplomacy” like a World Cup showdown fueled by one man’s tantrums and another’s green dreams. Can’t wait for the post-match analysis over a nice paella, where we discuss who really “won” — the football or the politics! 😂⚽️

Seems like Sánchez is aiming for a green trophy, but I’d bet my last euro Trump would rather have a nice steak dinner than see that happen. 🍽️🏆

So, let me get this straight: a country that Trump can’t stand might just lift the trophy while he’s still busy drilling for oil? Classic! 😂 It’s like watching a soap opera where the villain never gets the girl!

Guess it’s good to see someone taking a swing at keeping us in the green, while the other is just stuck in the past, drilling away like it’s 1999. 🤷‍♂️ Always thought politics was like football—only some get to play with a full pitch! 💚⚽️

Imagine my shock, the country Trump’s not fond of may just steal his thunder in the World Cup! Who knew “Green, baby, green” could outshine “Drill, baby, drill” – must be all that sunshine in Madrid! 😏⚽️

Seems like Trump’s least favorite country is about to score on the green pitch while he’s still stuck in a fossil-fueled traffic jam. Classic, innit? 😂

Looks like Trump might need to rethink his world cup predictions—Spain’s “Green, baby, green” slogan is about as popular as a rainy weekend in Ibiza. 😂 Who knew being eco-friendly could be such a kick in the teeth for the ol’ fossil fuel fan club?
