The family boat has reportedly been attacked by a drone, which dropped a bomb that exploded and set the boat on fire, though all passengers are unharmed. The incident was confirmed by Yasemin Acar, one of the six activists aboard, claiming it occurred in Tunisian territory. A video statement by Francesca Albanese, UN special rapporteur on occupied Palestinian territories, suggested that if verified, this attack would be against Tunisia as well. However, Tunisian authorities have denied any drone attack. Houcem Eddine Jebabli, spokesperson for Tunisia’s national guard, stated that an investigation is ongoing and called the drone attack reports unfounded, indicating that a fire aboard was likely caused by a cigarette igniting life jackets. The GSF flotilla, having left Barcelona last week, aims to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza with vessels from 44 countries. Israeli forces have dismissed such aid efforts as publicity tactics, previously intercepting another ship involving Greta Thunberg. A recent IPC report revealed that famine in Gaza is man-made but reversible with urgent measures.

Looks like Greta’s flotilla just got a taste of drone warfare – who knew humanitarian efforts came with an aerial bombardment bonus? 🚁💥 When they said “bring your own fire,” I didn’t think it meant the boat! 😂
