Held at the Chapel of the Church of Scientology of Amsterdam, the event celebrated individuals dedicated to humanity and social change, bringing together leaders, activists, and community members.
Organized by the Anbi (organization of public interest) Recognized, the Church of Scientology of Amsterdam, this year’s ceremony honored three exceptional individuals: Shantha Dalumagage, Morgana Sythove, and Ineke Hilhorst.
Awards were presented by Gerbrig Deinum, Director of Public Affairs of the Church of Scientology of Amsterdam, inspired by the humanitarian vision of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, who believed in sharing wisdom and helping others to persevere.
Adding to the event’s significance, Eric Roux, World President of the Initiative of United Religions (URI), attended from Brussels to discuss URI’s global efforts in interreligious cooperation and peace.
Tribute to Efforts to Improve People’s Lives
Humanitarian prize winners were recognized for unique contributions, from international human rights campaigns to interreligious dialogue and local initiatives promoting compassion and understanding.
Shantha Dalumagage: Advocate for Human Rights and Equality in Sri Lanka
The first award went to Shantha Dalumagage, a lawyer and founder of Lanka Foundation Mission, dedicated to promoting human rights in Sri Lanka. Collaborating with United for Human Rights International, Shantha led initiatives to raise awareness of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, improve rural education, support women’s empowerment, provide drinking water, health facilities, and free legal aid. Shantha also campaigned against ecocidal activities. Her holistic approach makes her a deserving 2025 Humanitarian Prize winner.

Morgana Sythove: Building Bridges Between Religions
Morgana Sythove received the second award for her role as a spiritual leader and global administrator of the United Religions Initiative (URI), promoting peace and understanding among diverse religious traditions. A Wiccan priestess and religious movement figurehead, Morgana strengthens eco-spiritual communities, supports humanitarian initiatives, and advocates for women’s rights and ecological justice. She has been an influential voice at international gatherings, including the Parliament of World Religions.

Ineke Hilhorst: Creativity, Compassion, and Community
The third award recognized Ineke Hilhorst, whose work spans documentary cinema, television production, coaching, and community strategy. Her initiatives bridge past and present through creativity and storytelling, promoting tolerance with living monuments like “VREEMDE VOGELS” and “De Drie Mannetjes.” Ineke’s humanitarian spirit also extends to refugee support, helping Afghan activists escape the Taliban.
Her blend of creativity, dedication, and compassion strengthens communities and inspires others, making her a worthy 2025 Humanitarian Prize recipient.

The ceremony reflected the values of Humanitarian Day: service, compassion, and unity, highlighting global interdependence and shared humanitarian goals.
