Bosnia and Herzegovina Students Engage in European Robotics Week to Enhance STEM Skills

Sarajevo, (Fena) – Europe House, in collaboration with the National Coordinator of the European Robotics Week in Bosnia and Herzegovina, hosted a series of interactive workshops in schools across the country to emphasize the significance of this prominent EU initiative that connects robotics, coding, and future technologies with younger generations.

The educational workshops held in Gradačac, Kiseljak, Mostar, and Travnik were designed to provide students with vital STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) skills.

Focused on igniting curiosity and fostering creativity, the activities served as students’ initial introduction to the realms of robotics and technology, encouraging them to aspire to be future scientists, engineers, and programmers.

During the sessions, students created simple robots using recycled materials, learned basic commands, undertook guided tasks with introductory programming tools, and developed short scripts and input functions.

All activities promoted creativity, teamwork, safe and responsible technology usage, and constructive thinking about functionality and improvements – essential competencies for future STEM education.

Since its inception in 2011, the European Robotics Week has engaged schools, universities, innovators, startups, and the general public across Europe through a rich program of demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on activities.

This initiative illustrates how robotics enhances multiple sectors of society – spanning healthcare, industry, culture, and daily life – while inspiring a new generation of European innovators to actively participate in the advancement of modern technologies. (28.11.)

  1. Oh, fantastic! Nothing screams “let’s build the future” like making robots out of last week’s recycling – just what we need, a generation of engineers who can code but can’t find their way to the nearest café! 😂

Good to see the kids in Bosnia and Herzegovina finally getting their hands dirty with some “high-tech” scrap metal—who knew that playing with junk could be the next big thing in STEM? 🤖👏

Robots made from recycled bits? Now that’s what I call haute couture engineering! Who knew turning trash into tech was the new way to get a PhD? 😂

Oh, fantastic! Nothing like a bunch of kids in Bosnia turning recycled junk into robots to really show the EU what innovation looks like. Next stop, Mars! 🚀😏

Oh, marvellous! Nothing screams “future leaders” quite like building robots from recycled junk in a classroom. Can’t wait for the next generation to fix the EU with cardboard and a bit of coding magic! 😂

Robots from scrap? Brilliant! Next, let’s see if they can build a bridge over our bureaucratic mess too! 🤖🛠️

Looks like Bosnia’s future engineers are busy playing with recycled junk instead of their smartphones—how very avant-garde! 🚀 I suppose next we’ll be teaching them to build a robot that can serve coffee, because that’s what we need, right? 😂
