Roeselare (Eurotoday) – A woman’s body was found at a carpool parking lot on Graankaai in Roeselare, leading to an immediate investigation by the public prosecutor’s office. Authorities closed the parking lot, resulting in temporary traffic congestion in the area.

Public prosecutors launched an investigation after the discovery of a deceased woman at the Graankaai carpool parking lot in Roeselare. Emergency responders were notified of the incident, and the parking lot was swiftly closed to facilitate the investigation. 

A Roeselare fire department member was called to the scene at 5 p.m. after a passerby reported a body lying near a parked vehicle in the carpool parking area. During the closure, access to Roeselare from E403 Graankaai and traffic from Roeselare to Izegem at the roundabout was restricted. According to initial reports, “a deceased female was located inside the vehicle.”

The exact time of the woman’s death remains unclear. Forensic medical experts were brought in to examine the circumstances. In connection with the incident, authorities arrested a man in relation to his girlfriend’s death in a 7-Eleven parking lot.

“Johnson stated his relationship with the victim as intimate partners, currently living together,”

and that

“he was in a previous argument with the victim, stating it was over with their relationship.”
