How did world leaders react to Carter’s passing?

In his speech, President Biden described the former president as “a man of principle, faith, and humility.” He claimed that he admired his compassion and clarity of morals. To him, Carter had been a fighter for humanitarian causes all his life and civil rights. As he remembered their connection, he told people how Carter had been there for him during the tough moments when he lost his son.

For that matter, Donald Trump also shared his views regarding Carter’s presidency through social media. Trump acknowledged the fact that Carter had to face some of the most crucial times in American history. He was also thankful for Carter’s efforts to do whatever it might take to bring better lives to all Americans. Trump said that the nation owes Carter a “debt of gratitude” for service.

French President Emmanuel Macron said: “He was an ardent defender of the most vulnerable and tirelessly worked throughout his lifetime for peace.” German Chancellor Olaf Scholz followed suit in tributes: “A devoted fighter for democracy the United States loses with Carter. The world loses a great peacemaker for the Middle East.”.

Achievements of Jimmy Carter

The Jimmy Carter presidency, from 1977 to 1981, was marked by some of the most memorable successes that have had a long-lasting impact both domestically and internationally. Among his most important foreign policy achievements was the Camp David Accords. This was when he brought Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian President Anwar Sadat together for peace negotiations.

Outside of his presidential era, humanitarian work and human rights have surfaced as a testament to the fact that he has left behind. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his unprecedented efforts to contribute to peace, democracy, and human rights awareness globally. Apart from his presidential years, he founded The Carter Center, which has contributed a lot to monitoring elections, as well as diseases like Guinea worm disease, and brought the latter down to its all-time lowest levels.
