Kortrijk (Eurotoday): On Sunday at 5:15 p.m., a car accident happened at the E17 exit and Oudenaardsesteenweg. Two cars crashed, trapping three women inside one car. The fire department had to cut the doors to free them. All four women were taken to the hospital.
On 29 December at 5:15 p.m., a car accident happened at the intersection near the E17 exit and Oudenaardsesteenweg. A woman driving with two passengers had just left the roundabout by the Cowboy Henk statue and was going towards Kortrijk. At the same time, another woman was trying to turn from the E17 exit onto Oudenaardsesteenweg. Both cars reached the intersection at the same moment and crashed into each other. The car with the three women hit the other car hard, causing a lot of damage.
What caused the car crash in Kortrijk near Oudenaardsesteenweg?
The crash was quite severe, with one car losing a front wheel completely and the other car’s front being badly damaged. Debris was scattered all over the intersection, leaving both vehicles stuck and blocking traffic. Three women were trapped in their car after the airbags went off. The fire department had to cut the doors to free them. The driver of the other car got out on his own. All four women went to the hospital.
Emergency services arrived to help clear the scene, manage the traffic, and check for any injuries. While the exact cause of the accident is still unclear, the extent of the damage suggests it happened at a high speed. No updates on the condition of the people involved have been released yet. A year ago, a new traffic plan was tested, but accidents still happen.

Imagine that, a car crash during rush hour—who would’ve thought? 🚗💥 It’s not like we were testing our new traffic plan or anything… Maybe next time, we’ll just stick to a leisurely stroll by the Cowboy Henk statue instead. 😉

What a classic case of “let’s see who can ignore traffic lights better,” eh? Just when you think the new traffic plan would do something, turns out it just turned into a demolition derby! 🚗💥

Just another day in Kortrijk, where dodging traffic is apparently as thrilling as dodging your mother-in-law at family gatherings. 🚗💥 Maybe they should start handing out medals for surviving the roundabout with both dignity and limbs intact! 🏅😅
